Little did they know that their gig would be the highlight of an otherwise snoozy Super Bowl weekend. But, there the Foo Fighters were less than 24 hours before the New England Patriots and Los Angeles Rams put on a sleep-inducing defensive display at Super Bowl LIII, rocking a specially built venue near Atlantic Station with Run the Jewels for DirecTV’s Super Saturday Night Show.

The gig, which streamed live on DirecTV and Twitter, had the Foos running through their greatest hits (“Learn to Fly,” “The Pretender,” “My Hero,” “Monkey Wrench”), along with a number of special guests, including jazz saxophonist Dave Koz, who ripped off a solo during “La Dee Da” and Queen drummer Roger Taylor sitting in for a spirited cover of the David Bowie/Queen classic “Under Pressure,” with vocals from Foos drummer Taylor Hawkins.
