Back in August of 2015, Billy Joel bid Long Island’s Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum farewell as he delivered the final performance at the arena before it closed for $130 million worth of renovations. His performance marked the end of an era, so it’s only fitting that the proud Long Island legend — who has played the venue 32 times over the course of his career — should usher in the next one for the Coliseum, which he’ll do when he plays the first show at the renovated venue on April 5, 2017.
